A Walk in the Park

These are some fun pics taken at a form of street theatre yesterday involving a giant mechanical elephant, an 18ft / 5.5M tall puppet and a spaceship. Please don't ask me to explain but it was great entertainment.

The puppet had an almost uneasy reality about her which may come across in these pics. I'll post something of the elephant shortly.

Couple of you have mentioned the creepy feeling we get from looking at a life-like imitation of our collective âselvesâ five times the size. The pics did make me think of some of the âdollâ pics that get posted which, inadvertently, can be a bit unsettling. But being there was different.

The event was awash with music, movement, excitement, thousands of people and with awestruck kids everywhere. The puppet was uncannily life-like and a mechanical marvel. Do look at the linked page for some detailed pics.

The spectacle was free, btw, and funded by grants from an arts council supported by the London Authority which is shored up with money from the UK government. Hmmm, not free at all, was it ? I paid for it myself !!
