Sand Tracks

Posted by AG (London, United Kingdom) on 21 May 2006 in Landscape & Rural.

Tried to capture the feel of these tracks and the foot- and hoof- prints all being eroded by the constant sand eddies. Looks like someone had fun in those loops up ahead, too. Wish I could spend more time on the beach . . . though the camera may not be so keen. Quietly invasive stuff, sand.

AFTERTHOUGHTS

This is one of those images where I ask myself if I am abusing the 18mm (equivalent) factor just because I can but I think it did produce a meaningful shot which gives a good feel for the ‘open beach, open sea, open sky’ that was the moment.

For reasons of overall composition, I ran the pic at an angle which took out some of the sea and most of the sky but I’m glad I retained a sliver of blue as is mentioned in the Comments. I do have gear that takes me down to 15mm (equivalent) rectilinear so, watch this space . . especially the corners.
