ExoticPosted by AG (London, United Kingdom) on 13 September 2006 in Transportation. Always interests me to discover the different pursuits people have in life. A close neighbor here runs a Lamborghini (Diablo?) and he has sufficient like-minded friends to meet up on Sundays and tour the city streets in a kinda cavalcade of similar exotic machinery. They tell me it is ‘not expensive’ to run a 5.7 liter Lamborghini . . but, ‘not expensive’ compared to what, I wonder. - AG parallel thoughts A new Lamborghini would cost between £130,000 and £180,000 ($240,000 - $335,000) in the UK but he bought his Lambo ‘used’ so I’m guessing at no more than £70,000 / $130,000 - unless it is a Murciélago like Alex/750iso reckons in which case a whole lot more.. Owners always maintain they could sell any time and make a handsome profit : they all say that. His buddy has the same model but in black finish which looks much better but photographs less well, as Anton mentions. Insurance (Group 20) and servicing are the real problems. And mechanical failure. For those with oily hands, I need only mention a timing chain snapping on a V-12 and, prior to a retrofit, the ex-factory arrangement on a Diablo was said to be prone to this. Further up the street, a guy has a Merc SLK32AMG in plain ol' silver. Now, I’d be happy to own that but would not bother photographing it. Strange, the world of cars. - AG, September 13, 2006 Welcome to American Grey | light This site stands in the long shadow of American Grey | frames, my (closed) original photoblog 2005-2009.
