Impromptu

Prior to the performance in the ‘Walled Garden', there were impromptu music sessions around the house and gardens on that same day. This gave a strange mixture of the formal and informal which probably suited neither the musicians nor those who would stop to listen. But it did create some odd moments for the camera.

ON THIS DAY, in 1962, The Beatles released their first single, ’Love Me Do’. Ringo Starr later said "That first record . . for me, that was more important than anything else. That first piece of plastic. You can't believe how great that was. It was so wonderful. We were on a record".
