Three Weeks to Halloween

Posted by AG (London, United Kingdom) on 6 October 2006 in Plant & Nature.

The build-up to Halloween begins rather early with displays of pumpkins, gourds and squashes prior to their going on sale just before the 31st. These and the cranberries featured yesterday are all part of a local Autumn Festival event due to open tomorrow.

ON THIS DAY, in 1846, was born George Westinghouse, a pioneer in the use of Alternating Current for mains power distribution. Indirectly (if you'll excuse the term) you view this page courtesy of George.
