The Bull CottagesPosted by AG (London, United Kingdom) on 7 October 2006 in Architecture. These riverside cottages form part of a small settlement dating back to the early 17th century. The buildings were constructed in 1720 as homes and workshops for fishermen and craftsmen and were never meant to be grand. Over the centuries, the terrace saw little maintenance and, by the 1950’s, it was actually condemned as unfit for habitation. Saved from demolition, careful restoration has transformed it into a series of very valuable properties alongside the 400-yr-old Bull’s Head public house and patrons’ car parking. - AG -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to American Grey | light This site stands in the long shadow of American Grey | frames, my (closed) original photoblog 2005-2009.
