On a Lean

I photographed this same gate about a year ago since when there has been some rebuilding of nearby walls that became a little too dangerous. I’m glad this one has survived to lean a little longer.

The two houses beyond the gate date back to around 1725 and replaced a single house of 1542. In more recent years, the actor Sir Michael Redgrave (1908-1965) lived in one house here until 1956.
