Overlap

There seems to have been something of an overlap to the timing in placing a new Medici Venus statue at my local park as all was suddenly revealed ahead of an expected formal unveiling.

She is a genuine carved figure from Portland stone and not a synthetic replica. The gardens first featured such a statue around 1725 and her predecessors have tended to ‘disappear’ so this is a welcome return.
