Staple Inn

Continuing the walk through the Temple district of London to an inner courtyard of Staple Inn. This is one of the old ‘Inns of Chancery’ where the original timber-framed structure (not seen here) survived the Fire of London in 1666 and the bombings of WW2.

Stepping into these courtyards just off a busy thoroughfare, there is a sense of sudden tranquility.
