Shoulder of History

This is one of the almost accidental vistas opened up at my local park as part of the major regeneration of the grounds. I've photographed it before but keep coming back to it because it has such a strong sense of history.

The figure is one of several set out in 1750 in what gets fancifully (and, perhaps, wrongly) called an exedra . .
